MTM – An Innovative Program Delivered Online
The University of Florida’s Online Master of Science in Pharmacy Medication Therapy Management is the first and only online master’s degree available in this emerging field of pharmacy. This innovative program is delivered to you through the latest online learning technology.
Lectures, class discussion forums, class e-mail, assignments, course schedules and more can all be conveniently accessed through the Internet. Online delivery will allow you to maintain your coursework anywhere, anytime. Virtual communication tools provide your gateway to invaluable interactive learning sessions with fellow students and professional site facilitators. You will find it easy to navigate your way in the program, but, should any issue arise, your support staff are always just a phone call or e-mail away.
Our groundbreaking program can be completed in as little as one and a half years (5 to 6 semesters, 33 credit hours). You will begin with the Foundations I course and, during the 4th or 5th week of this semester, you will be required to attend the MTM Institute on the beautiful University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida. The 4-day MTM Institute will include hands-on practice and assessment of communication techniques and physical examination skills. Your visit to the MTM Institute is the only time you will be required to travel to campus to complete coursework.
During the program, you will need to have access to patients to complete assignments. If you are a retail or community pharmacist, you already have all the access to patients that you need. We prefer that you work face-to-face with patients to complete assignments, although some phone calls will be allowed.
